Vancouver-born, painter Kathy Traeger is a Signature member (AFCA) with The Federation of Canadian Artists. After a career spanning over 30 years in the design industry, Traeger is now following her true passion and focusing soley on painting.
Traeger doesn’t lean towards traditional landscapes or subject matter. She loves to bring a hyperrealist style into her work. Inspiration is pulled from urban landscapes, old buildings, weathered signage, anything that is iconic, eclectic or rusty. There are stories in all of these forgotten treasures just waiting to be unleashed in a painting.
Traeger works with primarily in acrylics, and is constantly experimenting with different textured backgrounds on wood cradled panels and canvas.
